Console Table and Upholstered Ottoman Thrift Flip

May 30, 202259 second read

This piece was hard for us to part with when it was done! As a follow up from our Bright and airy sunroom and dining room update post, here is how we created this look for next to nothing!

Up-cycled console table and ottomans

The console table was found on Facebook marketplace for free, and had a little damage that needed to be repaired. Some sandpaper and wood filler and a quick removal of the bottom shelf got it ready for paint. Very light gray (Solemn Silence by Behr) paint and new brushed brass pulls and it was transformed.

Our client likes to entertain and host holidays and mentioned some extra seating would be nice- so on our thrift journeys we found two red velvet stools for $5 each and imagined a new life for them. Add a Home Goods tablecloth, some of Meredith’s sewing magic- and these stools look like a million bucks. ticked away neatly under the console table, seating, storage and a pop of pattern make this whole thing a dream. With the extra fabric a custom pillow was made for the sofa to tie it all together (we don’t waste beautiful things!)
