Our client recently renovated the main floor of their beautiful home. Once the walls were completed, it became a little overwhelming to decide how to make their new space feel like their own. The family wanted the living room to be for entertaining, family gatherings, and enjoying their fireplace. With a revamped lower level, the toys, play spaces, and work-from-home offices were happy where they were. This room needed to really feel inviting but also hold its own as a unique space.
The walls had been freshly painted before our arrival, so it was our goal to create some interesting moments in the room such as a sitting area, entrance space from the front door, and a focus wall to bring in some texture and break the space up.

The first thing we did was install a white shiplap wallpaper (peel and stick to not ruin the wall) on the entire wall behind the fireplace. Instant charm. Open ladder shelving let Whitney do her shelf decorating magic and few little accessories on the mantle. The items were a combo of what the clients already had with some new items we brought in.
The clients opted to remove both of their sofas and purchase a new leather sofa on their own (love it). We added in two wingback chairs in front of their large picture window to create a sitting area along with a floor lamp and nesting tables.

Above the sofa, a gallery wall with family photos takes center stage.

To finish the room, opposite from the fireplace we added in decor for the entryway to make the space inviting to come to. A large round mirror, table lamp, and accessories were added to the existing wood chest of drawers.

And that’s a wrap. Thank you to our client – wonderful family to work with!!
